Town Centre Patrol

Good afternoon all,

On Friday 10th July 2026, PC Bertelli and PCSO Davies, identified and stopped a male who was described moments earlier as a shoplifter. The male was stop searched by PC Bertelli and was found to be in possession of the stolen items. The male was subsequently banned from entering the store again and was issued a Community Protection Warning by PC Bertelli.

Over the past week or so, we have received numerous reports of people drinking alcohol in public spaces, as i have stated on previous occassions, this is strictly prohibited and something that the town centre team take seriously. If spotted by officers to be drinking publicly, the drink will be confiscated, poured away and may be suspect to being issued a fine. I appreciate the weather has been brilliant and people certainly do want to make the most of it, but we need to make the town centre a safe place to come.

Lastly, England vs Argentina on Wednesday 15th July 2026, 8pm kick off (for now…) please drink responsibly and finger crossed for another cracking result!
